Spring has Sprung in Kansas City! Thanks to the beautiful weather and gorgeous spring flowers, we were able to squeeze in our Spring Mini Sessions early this year! The kiddos came dressed in their best, Easter baskets in tow, which made for a fun-filled weekend for RBP! Each client received a free 5x7 of their favorite image as part of the Spring Mini Session special. We couldn't send our little models away empty-handed so we sent them on their way armed with candy filled Easter eggs and bubbles for all their hard work. As always, it was an absolute blast meeting all the families who participated - you all were wonderful to work with! Here are a few of our favorite images. Watch for a Mother's Day special coming soon.

All You Need is Love
Love was in the air for our Valentine Mini-Sessions held earlier this month. Thanks to the families that came out and shared an unusually balmy and beautiful January day with us! The sessions were great, complete with fun props, and concluded with some sweet treats!
Each family selected a 5X7 print from their session and will receive it mounted and framed in one of our new custom frames. To get even more in the Valentine's Day spirit, several families requested we custom design Valentine cards using their favorite photos to send to their loved ones. We hope your Valentine's Day is filled with lots of love and laughter!

Celebrate Tradition
We recently had the opportunity to help a family celebrate a special day in the Japanese culture. Shichi-Go-San is recognized on November 15th and is a day of prayer for the healthy growth of kids. Seven year old, Sayaka, and her family invited us to share in their celebration by photographing this important day.
The festival is for three and five-year old boys and three and seven year-old girls. On this day, the children dress up in traditional kimonos or dresses and their parents take them to a shrine and have a prayer. Children may also be given toys and candies to celebrate.
Sayaka and her mother, Emi, wore beautiful, hand-made kimonos. Emi's was passed down from her mother and is over 50 years old. Sayaka's kimono was also worn by Emi's sister. Dad and little sister were dressed in their best for the celebration too.
This day was a wonderful experience for us and we were thrilled to help capture this special time in Sayaka's life. Thank you Emi, Kazuma, Sayaka, and little Ayano.

Oh baby!
A new baby in our own family reminds me that there is nothing more joyous than the arrival of a little one. One of the best parts of our job is capturing a child over the first year of life. Our baby plan offers four sessions within the first year for $100. From the first few days to the first smiles and steps, we love seeing how much a little one grows and changes over the first year.
Our baby package is unique and easy for parents because we come to you! We can take photos inside or outside your home where you and baby are most comfortable. Clients often choose the home visit for their first session and then choose other locations for the remaining three. We also allow you to bring other siblings or other immediate family members to the sessions without an additional charge.
This baby girl was a joy to follow through her first year. We first met when she was just a month old. Her beautiful bright blue eyes and her facial expressions are priceless. Big brother was a part of several of the sessions as well.
Two unique items that Red Bicycle offers are custom designed baby announcements and mini brag books. For this client, we designed the announcement around the baby's nursery bringing in color and design elements from the room. We also designed a mini accordian brag book showcasing several favorite photos. You get a set of three, keep one for yourself and give the other two as a gift to grandparents!
The Baby Plan is a wonderful gift for new parents or to purchase for yourself. We even have Baby Plan gift cards if you would like to purchase as a gift. Contact us for more information. Now off to photograph Ashley's brand new little miracle, Beckett Dale. -Lindsay

Three Chairs and Four Kids
It is always amazes us how sometimes during a shoot it may feel like complete mayhem but everything always turns out just fine. We recently had the chance to photograph our dear friend Adrienne's four children. We come from a family with four kids too so we know first-hand what life is like with four kids. It is non-stop but we love it and would not change it for anything.
Adrienne and her husband Miles have three handsome boys and one sweet little girl. The youngest boy and girl are twins. We had fun chasing them around and watching their daughter keep up with all the boys and believe me she did! These crazy moments at photo sessions often reflect life just the way it really is. Sometimes it's nuts, especially with four, but just when you think it is overwhelming or complete chaos, a simple photograph can remind you that everything really is just fine. This is just the way they are-beautiful, real, chaotic. Thanks Adrienne and Miles.

A little bit of Heaven
For those that live in the Kansas City area I recommend a visit to Johnson Farms this fall. It is one of my very favorite places to visit with or without children. It truly is a little piece of heaven right here in Kansas City.
My family has visited numerous pumpkin patches in the area and Johnson Farms tops our list every year. One of things I love most, it is actually a working farm in addition to a pumpkin patch. You will find crops, baby animals, entertainment, mums and of course, pumpkins!
The Johnson's have been farming here for 10 years and offer fall fun and a full green house for your spring planting as well. I suggest getting there early or going just before closing time - it's breathtaking to catch the sun rising or setting over the fields.
If you visit, I suggest the tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch, so you can search for unique pumpkins or gourds. Your kids will love the adventure! You can even step out into the fields to pick your own veggies or flowers. Take in the calmness of the 140 acres away from the kid areas. Breathe in the smells of the farm, fresh flowers and apple cider.
We had the chance to meet Jorge in his cowboy hat while we were there harvesting fresh beans. He has been working with the Johnson's for many years and you might also catch him on a tractor during your visit. He allowed us to get a few photos of him working the land and we must say he looks like he was put on earth to work in this beautiful spot.
Visiting the farm reminds me to slow down in my usually hectic life and appreciate everything around me even more. I hope you will find some time to visit this fall. The Johnson's are an amazing family and we encourage you to support their local business. Enjoy! -Lindsay
